I just decided to go for new version in Black ( I'm keeping an eye open for old version in blue)
but just realized I have to decide. 39 vs 41 mm. I've found that that my comfort zone avg = 40mm
my wrist is approximate 7" current every day watch is Squale 20 atmos @ 40mm good fit
Can't find a local shop that has either size Lugs are either 21 or 19mm so the bracelet is going to be
a big factor overall look / feel
hard to understand why they make 2'sizes Only 2mm apart ?. Trying to figure if the dial will look crowded on the 39mm o|

I had the 39mm version and found it wore fine and the dial looked fine but I have a 6.75 inch wrist. I do think the 41mm is probably a better fit for those with larger wrists though. I don't think either way you can go wrong, but judging by your wrist size I would go for the 41mm, better to be a litte big than a litte small.

It's amazing that I can't find either size at local stores. Went to 3 AD'S in area they didn't have any Hydro conquest.
The 39 mm looks nice but I felt the Sinn 556 was borderline -smallish at 38.5 .
But I must say the Sinn & Archemedes Outdoor were very comfortable to wear the 38.5 -39 mm size
I'd think the 41mm is more popular by far ... resale will be better as well

I'm still not sold on all the numbers (I bought my 39mm 'old' version when this was announced), but are the numbers applied or printed? They look flat to the dial in the photos?

Maybe not the best pictures the internet have seen so far, but hopefully they get the job done.
The Black one is 39mm, and the blue 41mm. I went with the bigger size on the new model since I think the new dial make the watch look slightly smaller. My wrist is about 6,75".

The numbers are printed on the new model, and applied on the old one.

7.5" wrist, 39mm.

Perfect size if you ask me. The 41mm looks too "blocky".

Late to the party but I am in a situation where it is very difficult to try this watch one before I buy and am in complete uncertainty the 2mm difference. Does the 39mm wear like a 40mm? I read it has a lug to lug of 48mm that makes it look bigger.
For a flat 7 inch wrist is the 41mm too big then to be a dress watch with its 50mm lug to lug? (Normally 41mm is my sweet spot)

 

My left wrist is ~7 inches (right wrist is a bit more then 7"). And I have 39mm new HC. I hope you will be pleased by these photos:
