I want to get into vintage watches, seen this example down below, person claims the dial is original but i see 7110T on the dial when 5626-7111 have 7110R dial from my limited knowledge from youtube videos. can someone with knowledge of these watches help me? how much should I be expecting to pay for this watch? I've been asked 350 usd. I'm wondering if it's a Frankenstein and would appreciate the help

I doubt the dial is aftermarket. Just a cursory Google Image search for 5626-7111 will reveal a couple of examples with -7110T dials, as well as examples with -7110R dials. Perhaps the -7110T dials were Seiko service dials? Because the -7110T dials appear only on -7110/7111/7113 models, and AFAIK the -7110T dial doesn't come from any other 56KS model.

It started off with the 5626-7110 with the monocoque case, which evolved to the 5626-7111 with the KS-signed screw-on caseback, which then evolved to the 5626-7113 with the plain screw-on caseback. I can't verify your claim about the -7111 and -7113 crowns, but it's not something that would surprise me, it sounds decently plausible.

350 USD doesn't sound terrible. The watch appears to be in decent condition. Does the watch look like its been rebuffed/repolished (since some of the lines don't as sharp) or is that just the pictures being blurry? It certainly looks better than many other examples on the market.

hello again, it may be a service dial, i have found examples denoting 7110T AD, which i reckon is a service dial, mine doesn't have AD on it...
anyways the serial says the watch was made in may of 1973 which might explain the 1973 crown. i've read an article on the different models and differences which i can't find atm. (pics incuded)
anyways the watch is not polished it seems, lines and edges are sharp with wear marks which aren't visible if you're not looking for them. i got the watch for 320 bucks... i have to say. i'm impressed with my first vintage purchase.
now i gotta buy a decent strap.

7110, 7111 and 7113 all have the 7110 dial. This dial first appeared with the 5625/6-7110 case, but the 7111 and 7113 cases didn't need different dials so the same 7110 dial was used.

People often get confused and think that the number on the dial is the model number of the watch, but it's the case back number. The dial number is just a part number for the dial. It's often the same as the case number and presumably takes its number from the first case it's used in, but if the case changes and the dial doesn't, the number doesn't either.

Now, 7110R vs. 7110T... that's more of a mystery!
