My wife found this going while through some of her grandfather's things. Watch isn't running and the crystal looks smashed. Hoping to identify it and learn a little more about it. Face says "Rolex Oyster Perpetual" "Chronometer" and "Swiss Made" the crown says "Rolex Oyster." Going to have a watchmaker open it and take a look at the movement.

Verdi is correct.

You could do an image search on google 'Rolex Bubbleback', and with some research on your end, most likely come up with the exact model and perhaps very close to the year.

And yes, take it to a qualified watchmaker, (that knows vintage Rolex!,) have them remove the back and you would have all the information you would need. Don't get talked into anything before you do your homework. Depending on the watch, even swapping out that crystal, as crazy as that sounds, may not be the most financially lucrative idea.

Things are only original once.

Wow! That Rolex is in amazingly well preserved condition. You have a very nice watch, only wish the pics were of a higher resolution.

Two thumbs up.
