Hello everyone,

I've had this watch for many years now, as the title suggests it is signed BENTLEY 17j swiss made on the dial. Google searches have been fruitless on both Bentley watches (only the Breitling-Bentley collaborations come up) and nothing on Silvana movement either :-s She runs great, keeps time and all functions as intended. ANY scraps of info on this watch would be welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

Moved to our Vintage Watches Forum. Probably - and hopefully - the more suitable forum. Those full-calendar watches - I love the pointer date - have been very common in the 50ties.

Silvana = Silvana SA

1923 founded in Tramelan/CH, registered at the chamber of commerce in Courtelary
1923 Silvana SA joins the Association Cantonale Bernoise des Fabricants d'Horlogerie

1929 merged with H. Gasser & Co., Biel.
1931 move to Biel
1935 relocation to Tramelan

1936 - 1969 The brand gets established in Europe, South-America, Middle East and the Carribean. Special eidtion are engraved on the back with "La Montre Paysan", "La Montre Chasseur" und "Chemin de Fer Turc".

1971 Take over by SGT (Société des Garde-Temps Neuchatel SA) and merger with Avia ("Avia & Silvana SA")

1982 Sold to Ondix/Biel.

1992 Again established in Zurich.

Thanks Mike,

any ideas on the Bentley branding ie were they a watch brand in their own right or was it a collaboration with the car company? Also with the link below is a similar watch where the poster describes the watch as "Breitling Silvana" where there is no reference to Breitling anywhere on the watch. Is this just wishful thinking or is there a genuine link?
