Hello everyone, I just bought a Seiko SKX009K2 from amazon last week and finally arrived last night!! I would like your help to know if it is not genuine or if it actually is an original Seiko.
One thing that I don't support is the counterfeit industry, hence; me seeking for help.
Seller is from Japan, seems like an honest guy, watch arrived in Seiko Box with no book but a little warranty card (In Japanese of course).
I have read blogs about how to spot a fake Seiko and although my watch does seem to be legit there are 2 things that worry me:

1- Serial number is supposed to be the date it was made(I read it somewhere) well if this is true then my watch was made in 2051?
Ref # : 510014

2- The edge of the case, the lugs in other words are too pointy, apparently the real deal has a bit thicker lugs?

Please see attached pics and let me know your thoughts.
Thanks a Million everyone!

PS: Pictures are loaded in full size, they take your entire screen, if this bothers you then press and hold Ctrl key then hit minus key -
This will zoom out of the page and make everything smaller,
equally if you want to go back to original zoom or make a screen bigger (specially when reading small fonts, long articles) save your eyes: press and hold Ctrl key then hit plus sign +

I agree, looks legit. I don't recall seeing Seiko clasps with 5 micro adjust holes, but then I've never really looked up the Jubilee style bracelets, so I'm ignorant as to if they ship with something different. Anyway, if you aren't sure, get a case wrench and open it. The "proof is in the puddin'" as we say around here (its real if the movement is real).

looks 100% real to me too, just like the one I'm wearing today. Mine also has 5 microadjustments on the seiko branded clasp.

the serial number is decoded as such: first number is the year (in this case 5, so either 2015 or 2005 - not sure which is more likely in this case). Second digit is the month. 1 - Jan, 2 - Feb, 3 - March...etc. 0 - october, N and D for nov and dec

Hi,
Does yours have the WP in the back of the case as well?
Thanks.
