Help me decide- White vs. Black 16520

I have decided to look for a 16520 since I don't want to pay the high bubble price of an earlier Daytona.

My dilemma is White or Black dial? I like them both equally and ideally, I should probably buy both, but alas, I can only afford one.

Opinions?

They're both very nice, however my preference is towards the white dial. Largely as many Rolex sport watches shave a black dial, so it makes for a nice difference if part of a Rolex sport watch collection. However, if it was an only watch daily wearer, I would go for the black.

Go with what you like and better color fit with your collection.
I had same dilemma like yours three years ago. Bought white dial but ended up selling it. You will see white dial is slightly more popular among members in WUS and TRF.. But that doesn't mean anything for you.
cheers

I prefer the black dial, but I would like the white more of the subsidiary dials were all black and did not just have black rings. Also, is there a reason you prefer the Zenith-era ref.16520 to the in-house ref.116520? I've seen the former selling for basically the MSRP, and the Rolex cal.4130 is by all accounts a far superior movement to the heavily modified cal.4030

I went with the black dial. To me, it just looks sharper, but this, of course, is completely subjective. I would try both on. One of the common complaints with the Daytona is legibility with some swearing the black is more legible while others saying the white is easier to read. It's less of an issue with the Zenith models as the subdials don't have the metallic edge. I find both to be easily readable. There have also been some posts that the black dial Daytonas are slightly harder to find, ie see Bob's Watches site. I found this to be the case when I was trying to get mine as well with some dealers charging a slight premium for the black.
