I was recently shown a LeCoultre chronograph, presumably from the 1930s (LeCoultre merged with Jaeger in 1937 and sold watches under the Jaeger-LeCoultre band from then on).

Can you help me identify this watch?

N.B.: I have seen a somewhat similar-looking LeCoultre from the 1940s on a dealer website here. However, I am puzzled by the info given because (a) that model is reported by the (commercial) seller from the 1940s (i.e., after the Jaeger-LeCoultre merger) and (b) it is said to have a Valjoux 72 movement, and I believed that LeCoultre made its own movements.

Anybody who can shed light on this would be welcome.

According to the dial design I´d say it is a 1964 LeCoultre wth 17 jewels Valjoux 72 (see for more info on LeCoultre chronographs: Wolfgang Salm, Battenberg editors, ISBN 3-89441-376-X).

.....and made for the US market, hence the name "leCoultre".

The search function will find some Threads or Posts that explain the JLC/ LC thing.
