Hello everybody,

I am new to the forum. I am always lurking and
find great watch reviews here.

I have the Suunto Core since July 2008.
Apart from two battery changes it has been working flawlessly... until yesterday.

The problem is as follows:
I keep pressing the Mode button, but the thing
does not respond. The other buttons seem to be
working well though.
I already tried pulling the battery off
for a couple of minutes.

Does any have any clue what I can do to fix it without
sending it to a watchmaker?

You have the notorious button failure. It needs to go back to Suunto. They are quick and fast to replace your Core. Go to their web site for details.

Sad to hear that and I hope all goes well getting it fixed/replaced.

I have a Suunto Vector and it has just been a rock solid performer with absolutely zero problems and its still on its first battery after more than a year. I don't baby it either as it is my main bicycling watch as it is so handy to log total assents/descents.

Gray market means not purchased from an authorized dealer.

Still, did you register the watch with Suunto? You will likely have no issues. Contact Suunto Customer service. Just give them the serial # (part of the repair process) and they will take it.

Also... not that there is anything wrong with this forum, but you can also direct Suunto specific questions to the Suunto forum
