Hello,

I have a gold plated USSR made Sekonda watch. It has "30 jewels" and automatic stamped on the middle of the watch.
Under the 6 marker it has "USSR".

Can anyone help me identify the watch and its rough value? (it is in working order.. including the automatic mechanism).

I would like to get the watch restored to something like it's original condition and would appreciate anyone who could help do that in the UK.
The amount of work effort kind of depends on the value!

Paul
:thanks

PS Sorry about the photo, but the lens on the watch makes any autofocus impossible. I can possibly borrow a non-autofocus camera!

Sekonda was the export brand for many Russian watches, there are many old threads about. You watch is a rebranded Poljot with caliber 2616 (early ultraflat version), late '60s/early '70s. It is a nice movement, but it's a bit fragile though. It was followed by a totally different (and more reliable) 23-jewels caliber in the early '70s.

Value - approximately Euro 30,00. If the watch is well-working, i would limit the intervention to a change of strap and crystal. Nice watch :-!

Awesome.. thanks Michele (and thank you Mike)

If anyone from the UK has worked with a watch like this before and has an appropriate strap and crystal (and can maybe do a clean up on the surfaces), I'm happy to quickly discuss the work and offer the business.

Ta!
