Hi forum,

I´m calling the experts for info on this watch.

The movement looks like the one on the following link
bidfun-db Archive: Watch Movements: Helvetia 830

If I am correct on the movement, the watch is from 1955 or later? Right?
Is there a way to find out the exact year this timepiece was manufactured?

The crown turns in all positions (winding and setting the time) but the watch doesn't work.
How difficult will it be for a watchmaker to fix it?

Thanks in advance
Elias

For some reason the pictures I attached to the post where not displayed. Now, after editing, it looks ok.

The watch looks like the 1950s to me (stylistically)...that dial is pretty cool.

It will depend on what is actually wrong and how available parts are for the movement. There are many reasons why watches don't run, even with aspects like winding and setting working appropriately. With the watch in-hand a good watchmaker can probably diagnosis the main issue relatively quickly.

The watchmaker isn't taking in any more watches until after the x-mas holidays and I thought I would ask here for more info.
I really hope that he will be able to fix it. This watch is more of sentimental value to me as it belonged to my grandfather.
