Hi , sorry keeping with the rules heres our Heuer Chrono pilot that we found in our loft

Not sure any of the history or infos so would be good to find out about this and if it can be fixed, and the value if any - thanks

The dials dont seem to work or are very stiff, one is missing also

This is a watch from the early 80's. It is a base ESA quartz movement with a Dubois Depraz chronographic module added. Stein discusses it over at OnTheDash.com. Quite collectable!

I just saw the chronograph module alone on eBay. Swapping would be the cheapest repair. But the module itself can be repaired... but probably not cheaply. With the automatic base movement (ETA 2892-2) this is called the LWO-283 (assembled by Lemania). Overhauling them is a lot of work. My watchmaker charges about $750 to overhaul this automatic version. The quartz based version should be a little cheaper to fix...

Unfortunately the repair costs are likely to be a significant portion of the eBay sales value of the repaired watch. So, if you are not going to keep it, you might just sell as is.

Thanks for all the info, i thought it was from 1939 lol I dont know where i got that year from.

Ill look into ebay as is but if it was mine i would keep it, think my auntie ( who it belongs to just wants the money ) , shame i think
