How deep can U go with Core?

Hi all,
I've allready asked this Q before some time when I was waiting to finally get my Core Y/B.
Now after 3 months of intensive use I can proudly say that I'm very satisfied with it, alti-baro mode is very good and precise |>, compass is correct and finally I've manage to get it after pool test to real sea diving test.
So how deep can it go? Well, I'm sure that it can go up to 10 000m but the only problem is that it (probably) won't work after that never more :-!
First I've take the watch to some shallow snorkeling (7-8m) and the measurments was fast and correct. Great job Suunto guys.
It was time to go to the watch limit of 10m that was bothering me trough last 3 months.
In that dive I was carefully monitoring the depth meter and with great scepticism at 9.6m I didn't expect that I'll get any deeper measurments.
But it did!!!
I've stoped at 11.6m and I was SOOOO happy that I can go deeper and that watch will still be correct in measurements.
But than I was suspicious again cause I didn't know how much deeper can I go and still get the depth data.
So I went again.
Everything went fine untill 12.00m.
The display instead of numbers have shown only " - - " lines and that was it. I continued to go for 2 or 3m deeper and hoping that it will show again the depth. But it didn't....
So when I get back at surface in upper display was "MAX DEPTH 12m" and that was it, U can't get any measurements under 12m.
Now I know what this watch can do and I will still go diving with it up to 20m and I hope that it won't leak.
I was sad but still with this minus i can warmly recommend this watch to everyone.
:thanks

I am very pleased with this report!:-!

I will link to it in my water resistance myth article!:-!

So you went to 50' or 15 meters with it thats fairly good.

I get more and more convinced everyday that the Core truly is a mislabeled watch rated at only 30 m or 100'. it definetly seems comparable to a 100m or 330' Casio PathFinder/ProTrek

One thing though I remember seeing a picture posted in this forum with a guy wearing his light Green Core and the display read 14 meters on that one so his seemed capable of reading to 14 meters. This difference is interesting?

I am sure your Core would survive a 20 meter dive though!

Infact I think you can take it beyond 30 meter.....:rodekaart

Ufff, now I'm confused, can U somehow find that photo with 14m depth?
Can it be diferent (older or newer) software in that watch?
I'm sure that sensors still can work deeper than 12m and only problem is in software that need to suport that.
Let me know if U find something out.
Tnx

What are the hardware and software version of your Core?

Here is the thread in question:

And here is the picture:

As can be seen he is currently at 14.4 m and his max depth is listed as 15.6M

EDIT: One theory that i have is that perhaps when you passed 12 meter that you also went into a under water current that added pressure so that it went over limit...

Oh and dont forget to join the Core cult sign up here :-d:

Hi guys,
some updates:
I've take my Core on Scuba dive to 25m for 20min at that depth and it still works :-!
Here is some photo from earlier dive I've made also with my Core at 22m and Suunto Companion comp. is also used on that dive.
And as U can see there is still max 12 m depth.
From now on I will stop using Core on scuba dives cause I think that taking it deeper would be to big risk.

:thanks
