Back in the nineties I used to work for a relational db vendor. As some sort of morale thing they used to give us all sorts of logo merch, most of which I gave away to homeless people. One thing I kept was a logo watch. Even though it was a five buck Chinese quartz cheapie it was kind of cool looking despite the logo.

Anyway, after a while I noticed a strange thing. Between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm it would run slow, but between 5:00pm and 8:00am it would run fast.

How the hell did they do that???

As long as the amount it runs slow is equal to the amount it runs fast, does it really matter?

Perhaps that Quartz is very sensitive to temperature

Don't know how they do it, but obviously it's a covert attempt to exploit the workers by increasing their work day and decreasing their time off.
