Mine is missing from my bezel, just like CalDiver's whose picture I'm using above for illustrative purposes. His is set at just above the 1:00 location, and he has the same empty hole on his bezel as I have on mine where the small luminous tube in metal originally was. I don't want to send the watch in, I just want to get the part and I'll put it in myself. Anyone know how to get this part replaced?

Contact Ball Watch USA if you are in the US and Canada and they should be able to help you, or put you in the right direction.

thanks for bringing that question up--I too would like to buy the piece and install it. Let me know if you get any info on a replacement "pip" and I'll do the same. Thnx

I wonder how many of us have the same problem? I will also try to contact Ball Watch USA when I get a chance, probably Friday.

FWIW, when I bought my Ball from NE Jewelers in St. Pete (in the same building as Ball Watch USA) the salesperson told me gas tube repairs are only done in Switzerland....

The missing piece in question is not really a light tube, but a small luminous pip in the bezel. It is (I believe) just super-luminova like the rest of the bezel.
I can understand that "tubes" are factory only servicing--this SL pip should be an easy fix IMO.

There is actually a tiny tube under a lens inside the pip. This piece can only come out from the back side of the bezel insert. It is likely that when you removed the bezel insert (like I do) to clean underneath it and clean the glowing rubber insert under the bezel insert, that the Pip fell out and you didn't notice. The only way it can come out the front is if the hole that it sits in is too big or mis-shaped as the pip has a shoulder that prevents it from going through the hole to the front.

If the part can be attained, reinstalling it is a 2 minute job assuming the bezel insert is OK.

Actually, it's a tritium gas pip. It is a tiny tube placed upright.

Hmmmmm...ok, thanks for clarification on that. Well, I'll call Ball in next day or two and see what the options are. It might have to go back to Ball for repair? I've never removed the bezel so not sure how the pip fell out? :-s

Here's a bit more detail on the Zero marker of the bezel.

The World Timer, which Time2Watch has, always had the small gas tube pip.

The Engineer Hydrocarbons originally had luminous paint. However, starting with the Alligator, all new Hydrocarbons have had the gas tube pip.

At this point, all Engineer Hydrocarbons supplied from Switzerland are shipping with the gas tube pip on the bezel. But there may still be a few of the older luminous paint versions in the retail network.

Regards,
Jeremy

I agree with you Mr. Ballwatch.
My Hydrocarbon Ti TMT does have the tritium pip on the 12 O'clock bezel while the rest are Luminova paint markers (on The bezel)...

Jay
