Well I thoght a thread like this would help a lot of G-Shock owners, that have beaten up watches, and the letters removed from them, and want to restore them, or if you have a G-Shock and you don't like the color of the letters you cand change them ,to any color you like !

Here is what you need and how to do it ! Personaly I like to use nail polish, because it comes in a variety of colors, and can satisfy your demands completly, you allso need a clean piece of cloth, and some nail polish remover substance !

First of all you apply the coat of nail polish over the letters that need to be repainted, make sure that you apply enough paint on the letters to cover them completly,(if the watch is new and you want to cahnge the color of te letters is better to remove the original paint before repainting the lellers in the color that you want ) after that , just leave the paint to dry off for about 1 hour or so, after tahat take tle clen piece of cloth, and the paint remover, and wipe off the exces paint from the bezel, you will have beautiful letters on your G-Shock ! The paint from the letters will not come off because the letters are depper in the bezel !

I hope that this tutorial will help you redo/change the colours of the letters on your G-Shock with no problems from now on !

Here are some pics to help you some more !

This is how the watch use to look like,it is a Fake G-2000

One of my Gaussmans with the letters redone !

Hope you like it !

All the best ! Mike !

how do you take the paint off? i wanna just make mine all black and get rid of the red lettering
there are a lot of ways to do it, one that I heard is soak the bezel in hot watter with soap for 15 minutes and then with a brush, the letters will come wright off ! hope that helps !

Thats a really cool idea....But i'm not sure how I feel about customising my brand new all white G-shock. I have an idea of what I would like to do...but I'm thinking it might devalue it in some way...

maybe once it gets a few knocks and knicks...

The new lettering looks good!

How long will this paintjob last? I am swimming a lot so I wondered if the nail polish would survive this. Any experience would be much appreciated.

it will last a very long time , as you know the nail polish is watter proof so I don't think you will have any problems !

that was extremely useful. i just got a beat up froggie bot on the bay from australia. the letters on the bezel were dead. i put some nail polish on it, and BLAM... the watch is popping now. it does take a little more work if the bezel is scratched up with deep gouges, but totally worth the effort. fantastic, easy, cheap fix. thanks

Also, if you want more protection while swimming, you could cover the paint with a clearcoat nail polish!

Great idea!

Any idea how this works on a metal watch? I have a GW2000BD that has the stamped lettering & numbering on both the resin and metal part of the watch.

I think doing this https://www.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=86046 but with black colorant will do the job for what you want, you have to boil the strap too with the bezel and it will be exactlly as you want it !

I just tried this using some gold fingernail polish. Unbelievable how well this works. And to think, it uses stuff already laying around the house! Outstanding tip, thank you!

Yow are more than welcome.
For my next project I think that I would like to do the letters in rainbow colors like on some bape models, I know it will be hard but is worth giving it a shot, but first I have to buy all the colors of nail polish. :-s
