I’m making this thread for a “wisdom of crowds” purpose. When things are roughly equal, if I’m directly choosing between one company that wants to honor my service, and one which doesn’t, I give that some purchasing consideration.

It won’t be the break point in a decision, but if I’m say, waffling about a white Bulova Lunar Pilot, the discount can tip the scales

I’ll kick it off with veteran discounts I’ve personally encountered and what they were when I did so. Please add any you’re aware of.

Alpina: 15%
Ares: 10%
Armourlite: 20%
Benrus: 15%
Citizen/Bulova: 15%
Luminox: 25%
Marathon: 10%
Vaer: 20%

My Omega was 32% off through AAFES website. Would be nice if they list up some Omega’s again.

They do still have Oris. They’re only ~6% off at the moment, but they have a decent sale occasionally.

FYI - Any Veteran can register and buy through their website (you don’t have to be a retiree).

I rarely take advantage of vet/first responder discounts, although I qualify for both.
Figure, save them for someone that needs it or gave up a leg or something.
Don’t feel bad about taking advantage of a posted discount. The retired O-5 & O-6’s (and their Dependa) that are double-dipping as GS-15’s typically aren’t bashful about it.

Agree and can confirm. Didn’t retire as an O-5 or O-6, but the retired O-3E/GS-15 life works just fine.

Those discounts seem to be the same or less than non-military. Exception being the occasional Omega sales.
In many cases, yes, but some are more generous and it’s an extra five or ten percent, all day, everyday. There‘s nothing promotional or date sensitive about it, you get it every time you shop with the manufacturer.

I find the benefit of the programmatic discount is in not needing to wait on a calendar sale for many manufacturers just to get the larger discounts that sometimes come to every customer. It’s like a permanent sales price.

I think veterans, police, fire and medical all have earned discounts and should be given bigger discounts on practically everything.

Thank you to all who have served and are serving.

I take advantage of my vet discounts when I remember to. There’s no shame in playing by the rules someone else made. However, if you didn’t serve, you shouldn’t claim it.

Use them for an education, a house, or a discount on a watch…you earned it. Some people may feel superior for picking and choosing where to use their veterans’ benefits, but that shouldn’t reflect on others’ choices.

I guess that's what I was suggesting. These discounts seem to match or be lower to what anyone can get.
