Hello everyone 😁
So here is the thing,
My Watch tastes are changing and now i quite dislike big watches and even more "thick" watches.
My Casio protrek PRW-7000X is gorgeous and i like it very much, but i find myself using it less and less because it is big and really thick.
I thought about selling it or even trade it but my wife stopped me. She says it's one of the most beautiful watches i own and she believes i won't get much money compared to what i paid for it (quite a bit €) so she won't let me part with it.

My wife is the culprit to my Watch Addiction and she plays a good part in my watches purchases, i ask her for opinion and she supports me too.

Watch Analog watch Automotive tire Clock Measuring instrument
Watch Water Analog watch Clock Sky
Watch Hand Analog watch Gesture Clock
Watch Analog watch Blue Clock Wrist

In conclusion, my question refering to the watch is:
Should it Stay or should it go??

I love my wife. She supports my hobby, has bought me a couple watches, some straps and my watchbox. She has never complained even once when I bought a watch. In the end though, while she may give me advice on what to get (might not have gotten my Worldtimer without her push) or not want me to trade/sell a watch she likes (My TAG Aquaracer for one, my Snowflake for another), in the end she knows it's my call cause it's my collection.

If you want it gone, it should go. She will get over it.

Most wise and sincere advice.
Thank you

Here's how you do it. If you buy a watch. Buy her something. Buy her off. Throw in some extra money. Throwing it her way. She's not going to put up that otherwise.

Think of it as a relationship tax of sorts.
Well that's good, but how do you do the other way around (selling instead of buying) xD

How much are you thinking you may lose on the sale? I would think if you're not wearing it best to let it go too, but I do think high end quartz watches are a little tough to find the right buyer.

I don't think there's a harm in listing it for sale where you're not losing too much, but just expect it probably doesn't sell anytime soon. If you assure her you won't let it go at a bargain, maybe it would soften the blow.

Meh, if you need to sell it to fund the next project, sell it. If it's not going to crimp your style, keep it and she can feel good about it. It's amazing how you think your style/taste has changed and then next month/year you come back around to what first drew you to this watch...(y)
You got me thinking 🤔 maybe i'm in a rush for nothing

Yes, that's the thing, i bought it for 800€ and i don't know if i can get at least 600€, that's why i was thinking of trading too, but for the watches i like maybe it will be difficult too.

Easy, work out (together) what you should get for it to make it worthwhile selling it. List it for that, but invite sensible offers.

Then any time you get an offer you can revisit the conversation. Sooner or later one of you will care less than the other one and the watch will either stay or go.

At first, we all feel that way about new watches and wives... give it time.

Ah, that saying that can make you happy in times of sadness, and sad in times of happiness. This too shall pass.

I would think a Protrek would be hard to get a good deal on unless you find the right buyer.

But anyways, you don't have a dilemma, you have a proclamation from God. So you're stuck. Luckily, interpretations from God do change over time, so just try again in a few hundred years. :p
