We were down at the local Container Store looking for something that my wife wanted and I thought "Hey, I've seen some nice little polyethylene organizer trays full of watch parts on other's posts, maybe they have something like that here", so I sent my wife on a mission. She landed several choices, some good and others, well...

Good:

Didn't buy any "bads" so no pictures but bad included similar boxes in styrene and some polyethylene boxes with movable partitions where the smaller parts would go right under.

She pointed out an elaborate "Stuff Cabinet" that I initially dismissed because of the price, but then I thought about the mess I have at home and how nice it would be to have a "Roll Cabinet" for watch tools.

In regards to the "mess", I've been using a Kennedy single compartment tool box since I started and initially it was sufficient but as purchases went on, it got quite crowded. Worse was that I needed something that filtered to the bottom and had to remove the entire contents to get at my quest.

So I made the plunge, after all, think of the cost of the tools and it's really quite reasonable. The tool box is:

... branded "Bisley" which I think is priceless, but "Bosley" would have been even better. It consists of five identical drawers on metal slides. Unfortunately the slides aren't compound and the drawer gets wonky when almost all the way out, but I think I can deal.

Some additional pics:

Each drawer has a separator, a plastic liner (injection molded in ABS [I'm guessing] that fills the entire drawer and they come in different separations; the one shown on the bottom drawer has four compartments). If it has any shortcoming, it's that the drawers are about one inch deep so some things just don't fit. I was only able to get a couple lubricants to fit without having to set them sideways (which I refuse to do).

Pricewise, it's about as bad as anything from The Container Store, total list was $175 but we got a 15% break for my wife signing up to a barrage of junk email (which she thoroughly enjoys; well I guess that's why we're compatible).

The aspect you need to (and perhaps already may have) considered is, it's a present also to herself if she's as houseproud as mine is!

This coming from a hoarder who likes to collect equipment and tools, and has far too many hobbies.... The poor wife...

We're two peas in a pod there; still sorting a collection of "Must Haves" from our children's school years.

But I must say, it's been a blessing so far; grabbing the odd tweezer or hemos.

Not sure about the "barn find" part, but yes, she's HOT! Just to save you the guessing:

Our son and daughter-in-law got married a couple summers ago in Kona. Right after the wedding (well, actually after the hangover) wifey and I ditched the party and flew over to Kauai for a week of diving. The pic is from the Na Pali coast between a couple dives on Mana Crack. The other highlight was Niihau, the island west of Kauai. We were lucky to get one of the best days of the year regarding vis and swell conditions. One dive along a vertical wall at 80 ft, the bottom was at 300 ft and we could see it. Amazing.

Oh, regarding the pic., I'm the ugly one (in the glasses, with the crooked hat... and I believe I'm wearing a TAG WAK2180). :p

Now for Niihau...
Here's a fun snap from her GoPro at a "TV Cave". You can guess the reason for the name.

OK, got me going through GoPro vids of those dives, here's a few nice shots:

Vertical Awareness (dive site name) that's her right in front of me.

Monk Seal (there's about 2,000 of these total - Fukin Hawaiians shoot them for stealing fish from nets)

If that doesn't make you wanna go diving...?

I think they are all over the states. I see one in Rockville MD for instance. It's just called "The Container Store".

They are pricey, but it's kinda like a "Pimp your Space" show on the two-digit channels. For instance, I was in there to buy a trash bin on a sliding rack to replace the same model under the kitchen sink. There isn't a better way to mount a trash bin, maybe other than those built-ins that smash the trash as well.

Oh, and closet organizers, don't get me started...

I have several restaurants in the Rockville area, will check it out! I need some cleaning supply storage for my pipe repair bench.

Update, I got a nice response over on Omega Forums asking me why I had a drawer full of rubbers and a Viagra prescription and was complaining about not being able to store my lubes. Quite helpful. I explained that the blue thing could be turned into a vibrator.

I find the conversation here refreshing.
