That was my initial impressions as well. The other ones I've seen have the bezel without the connected pip marks but I don't know enough about Raketas to make a really informed decision. Like I said, I'm new to this arena.The movement and case are correct, and the dial and bezel match but something feels a little off. Take what i said with a grain of salt.
Also do your old man a favor and order a nice new strap for it.

I've heard the straps are legendarily bad. Haha. A new one is going on it before its given as a gift for sure.Well, it looks great and it's simple to service as per most USSR/Russian watches.
And since you're a newcomer to Russian watches, buy a new strap. Trust me on this one.
