Buddy is looking for a watch for around $3-4k, rectangular, but with the watch face no wider than the band. He's about 6'1, but has skinny little wrists.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Or, even better ... the classic JLC Reverso (manual wind), pre-owned ...

Or, an Omega JFK. Hmm, I checked the price - seems like it might be over your price limit even pre-owned.

love the JLC

usually when people mention square/tank watches, Cartier comes to mind,
here's a couple of them

Cartier Chronograph, Tank Solo, Cartier Reverso, all can be had for about 4k and under

Other square watches ~

1. Perrelet
2. Baume Mercier
3. Jean Richard
4. Zenith
5. Hamilton

and this is just my opinion, if your friend is tall and skinny, I wouldnt wear a skinny watch (case width is the same as the bad)

skinny on skinny doesnt really match well in that regard,

+1

In fact there are two Grande Taille Reversos for sale on another popular watch forum's sales board right now. They're both a little bit over 4k. IMO, there's no better option in that price range.

When it comes to square or rectangle watches no one does it better than the Monaco!
There really only is one choice in my mind.
