If I buy a 2nd hand AP Royal Oak, is it possible to purchase a bracelet for it?

Looking to getting an RO. I know their bracelets is one of their defining traits, but I'm more into straps right now. If down the line I get interested in having a bracelet, will AP sell me one? If yes, are there any pitfalls like certain models not having matching bracelets, size constraints, pricing, serial number etc. that I should be wary of?

Thanks!

AP makes a bracelet that would fit pretty much any model of the Royal Oak. They're pretty ridiculously expensive, and they make you buy these "kits" with them that include new screws, tubes, and screw nuts that will add additional costs to it. Depending on what model number you're interested in, you could always call a boutique and have them check for you.

If you think that you might purchase a bracelet sometime in the future, it might be better to buy the watch with it now and then add a strap.

That is likely to be the more cost effective approach (particularly if you plan to flip it later on).

Definitely the way to go.

Always go for the bracelet, if its an option on a specific watch, as buying or sourcing bracelet separately will cost you more.

Take the bracelet out, keep it on the side till you will want to put it on one day. Plus with bracelet, it will be easier to sell.

I have a 14802 (Jumbo LE from 1992) and when I bought it, it came with the full kit, but the bracelet was sized to a 6.5 inch wrist and there were no extra links. Because the model is out of production - and had been for over 20 years at the time... AP had to make the links individually. It cost about $400 for 3 links and took about 2 months. So, just keep that in mind in terms of the price of a full bracelet. You'd likely be looking at several thousand dollars. Buy with the bracelet if at all possible. If you want new end links and a strap, get in touch with APbands or the like, and be ready to spend a few hundred dollars. A much less painful route.

I thought I read on the forum somewhere that someone got a quote for a stainless steel one and it was well over $2000. There are kits to change it to a strap (rubber or leather) with all the pieces you need for around $500 or so, but those aren't genuine AP. Not sure how much genuine AP straps/kit would cost.
