Hi all,

This is a family heirloom I rec'd just before my Dad passed.
Its a 16s 15j SW/LS Illinois with 1,308,xxx s/n, dates to 1896.
Needs a new crystal but runs great.

Curious if anyone's seen this dial before??
The etched building on it looks like the Ill. watch factory itself.

A unique dial indeed! Some straight on pics might help provide a comparative image for matching.

Crystals are an easy fix for a watchmaker.

This general style dial is fairly common on English and Swiss watches, but I tend to regard it somewhat suspiciously on American watches.

I agree that a straight-on view of the dial would help...not entirely sure about it being a picture of the Illinois factory. There are dials out there with pictures of the Illinois factory, but the ones I've seen are standard enamel dials.

The pic looks more European to me than US. Note the tall building appears to be missing part of the tower and the flag is a narrow pendent and the bridge is a massive stone arch bridge. None of these are common in the US.
