produced from 1940-1963 by Fabrique d'Ebauches Vénus S.A. in Moutier, Switzerland. In 1962 the Tianjin Watch Factory (aka Sea-Gull) acquired the caliber 175 tooling from Venus for use in the production of the original 1963 Chinese Air Force chronograph watches. The Seagull ST-1901 chronograph movement is based on the Venus caliber 175. The 175 was a column-wheel manual wind chronograph. The caliber 175 was the basis for the Venus caliber 188. The 188 was a cam acuated design. In the mid-1960s Venus was acquired by Valjoux and the 188 was renamed 7730. The 7730 (Venus caliber 188) was the basis for the legendary 7750. Thus Andre Frey's connection with the 7750.
