If you were stranded on an island after a ship wreck

And you could have any watch in the world

What would it be?

probably sounds like a homer comment, but my old Rolex GMT. It is 20 years old, has landed face first on tile from two stories up, beern into the salt water many times, just keeps on running. It has earned myt rust as a watch that will keep runninng when I am stranded and cannot get it serviced. Keeps better time than any other watch I own.

I'd trade it for an excellent set of knives, sharpener, hunting/fishing gear, compass and tools.

Something that had a satellite phone and GPS beacon in it.

My Casio Riseman.

Atomic time, solar powered, and a G-shock. It's the only watch I own that never, ever fails me - no service needed, no worrying about a scratch here or there, and it looks pretty cool, too :)

If not the Breitling Emergency. Would have to be Tudor Pelagos in blue.

Why, exactly, would you need a watch while stranded on a deserted island? To make sure you don't miss reruns of "Gilligan's Island" on the local palm tree network?
Exactly. To watch TV. Should pick the Seiko T001 TV watch.

I would think being stranded on an island after a shipwreck and then having any watch in the world would be the least of my concerns.

But hey, if that is your fancy then go for it.

BTW, if you see a lot of individuals choosing the Breitling Emergency, it is because this type of scenario has been asked before on WUS.
