Hi
I am quite new at this forum I am just starting to know a bit about watches.
I inherited this pocket watch and would like to get a little more info about it. I am a newbie and I get lost on all the info available online.
The info I was looking for
1 - is this a fake?
2 - the serial number on the movement does not match the serial on the case why is that ?
3 - If it is a real Tiffany watch, was it done by PP.
4 - I’ve tried to search the serial on some website but got no match
Can anybody help me with some more information?
Thank you

Beautiful PW, reminds me very much of Agassiz movement.

Edit: if it is ... another watch featuring Agassiz movement serial in low 64K was dated to 1901 on another forum. That gives a rough idea about when your watch could have been made though something obvioulsy happened in 1890.

Thank you. Can you tell me how to differentiate a Patek from and Agassiz movement?

Since Patek, Agassiz, IWC, VC, Longines and others supplied their movements to Tiffany quite often it could be a hit and miss. I've read posts by collectors/watch experts who couldn't agree on movement attribution. However, if this information is very important, you might want to approach PP themselves or seek professional opinion from an antique dealer specializing in PW.

Thanks once again. I would like to know the movement creator because from the little I know it really affects its value and I want to evaluate it. The problem is that I am quite new at this and I can’t seem to find an expert here in Portugal. How can I contact PP?
thanks

Yeah, the dreaded value question ... this forum discourages valuation questions/discussions. A member could PM you if they were an expert valuer of antique PW and if they could ascertain this (the value) without having the watch in front of them. As you can see that would be pretty difficult to achieve. On PP - if you google 'contact patek philippe' you will get your link on the top of the page.

Edit: check out comparable watches on the ebay for value.
