Almost certainly a recase. The movement is one of the 18/0s, a little rectangular thing that Elgin used in men's and women's models in the 1930s, but the style of the case is much later.

Other hints - the shape of the 'G' in "ELGIN" - the official font has no 'tail' on the G.

I have decided to try and strip the white crusting off this likely redial....maybe itll look better or more orginal.

Thoughts???
