Ideally you should use the special tool for placing the hands on.This is a metal/brass stick with one nylone cap in each end of the "stick" The one has a hole wide enough to go over the outside of the minute tube,but stops on the edge of the hour wheel. The other side is tight enough to stop on top of the minute tube wheel. Another solution is to use a pair of watchmakers tweezers,but this will leave some markings on the hands if they are polished,so put some plastic folie over the tweezers ends if to use this solution,but as told,not an ideal option.
