I thought I'd just share an interesting under the radar find and purchase I just made. Quite excited to share it!
Stumbled across this NOS 'True Time' Caribbean 100.
Did some further research out of interest and found that during the same period in the 60s, Jenny were producing these dials and shared them with a variety of makers, like Festina:
They made several colourful dials with a variety of depth ratings, their most famous being a 1000m depth rating in the 60s. I believe the first of its kind.
While the full stainless steel Panerai-like case, ETA movement and connection to Jenny had already drawn me in, I had no idea who True Time were. With the help of @Hartmut Richter we found that True Time watches were potentially being manufactured by Fortis back in the day!
Overall, quite a few aspects that make this an awesome under the radar watch that's NOS to boot! Very excited to get this one in.
Some of the history of watchmakers in the booming 60s and early 70s before the quartz crisis is quite amazing. Especially the connections and sharing of components between makers.
