Nice video, thanks for sharing! I like how he relates mechanical watch as analogous to other aspects of life or existence.

I feel most of the time, most people just buy/enjoy on wrist/sell, which is enjoyable too, but not as hands-on. I'm not a hands-on guy, but I could see the appeal of fixing/servicing movements, for those who could and like to do it.

Recommended art-film short: "The Watchmaker"

I recommend this nine-minute short about an impressive Iranian-British man who restores old flea-market watches in his home workshop. High-def closeups of mechanical watch movements, casual philosophizing about time and chaos and craft, awe inspiring beard, lots of film-festival awards:

The Atlantic. Published on Nov 27, 2018. For one man, repairing watches offers respite from hectic modern life. "The Watchmaker" was directed by Marie-Cécile Embleton.
