First known ad (to me) depicts 699 Sea Wolf was dated by May, 1959 (see picture of the ad on initial post).
Engraving on the case back well proves originality of this specimen and illustrates that this one belongs to very early 699.
It is why opened this thread. Pretty unique example for good price and excellent condition.

Is this a 2nd gen or a 1st gen. Dive watch.

The crown doesn't screw down.

The bezel just turns. No clicks. Is this the way they were built?

The bezel has no clicks. Just turns freely.

Nice watch! Looks original all around. Maybe except crown. Crown looks from later 946 case (Acrylic bezel). I think it was replaced during service somewhere in 1970s or later.

Does the bezel have a click detailed or is it supposed to Freewheel?
