Introducing Swiss Watch Company

Hi everybody, my name is Josh Roemer and I run the marketing for Swiss Watch Company.

My dad (Stephen Roemer) founded the company back in 1996 after nearly two decades working within the Swatch group. Those of you who have followed us on Instagram for the past 2 years are very family with his, as well as our, brand's history. For those who are not familiar; my dad after leaving the Swatch Group moved to the United States and began manufacturing watches for the U.S. armed forces as well as first responders. In 2008 he began facilitating the manufacturing for other watch brands, large, and micro (something we continue to do to this day). In 2017 we decided it was time to create our own line of watches and after a successful Kickstarter campaign in October of 2018 that dream became a reality.

My dad and I have truly enjoyed getting to know people within the watch community on Instagram and wanted to expand onto Watchuseek. Not only to get to know more of the community, but because forums seem to be more conducive to long form conversation, which we prefer. We get a lot of questions from people not only regarding our brand, but on the microbrand market as a whole (specifically how to start a microbrand) and these are topics we love discussing!

Here are some images and the specs for our dive watches which are currently available (with the exception of the orange model, which is sold out). We will also be releasing a chronograph (based of our of dive watch design) and announcing completely new model family later this year.

We look forward to getting to know you all!

Those are some good looking watches! The blue is seriously tasty looking.
Thank you very much! The blue model is easily the most popular and the blue lume is my personal favorite.

Interesting watches and clearly a willingness to listen, despite the disparate responses to design aspects.

For me I love the blue line and also the bracelet design which from far away looks like an Omega 2254 type but up close the polished link isn’t there but a facet of the central link gives that impression. Very original and I like it a lot.

I can’t carry off such a bjg watch but I will follow with interest. Price point is also very attractive.

The watch itself is quite nice, but the name is a dealbreaker for me. Having "Swiss Watch Company" on the dial makes it sound like a cheap knockoff - until you get a name change, may I suggest losing the name on the dial and keep just the logo? Maybe put the name on the caseback where it's not as visible.

I apologize for the late response! Feedback is always welcome but applying it can be tricky. Even if I don't agree with someones take on the design, I try to let people know that I hear them and there is validity to their point. So I can see where you are coming from with viewing the responses as disparate.

I am happy to hear you enjoy the design however! This thread is going to be extremely influential in how we decide on what size to go with for the next iteration of our diver.

Thank you! This will be the most feasible options for us going forward as it wouldn't require a name change. It is something we are planning on doing for our next model that will be announced in the coming months. This thread is all but ensuring the full company name is left off the dial in future iterations.

Great collection by the way. The El Primero has been at the top of my list for quite a while now.

The watch is pretty large and thick... and the logo needs to be redone or maybe the name is just too long..... maybe you should use the initials

We're definitely on the larger end but I think we're below average on thickness for our price range and movement.

The name being too long is feedback that is uniform enough that we would be crazy to not change something about it. I'm not sure if you are familiar with them, but EMG Watches has tried both routes and I can see some parallels being drawn there with how our logo would look on its own. Just having the logo would be the easiest change to make but the initials may be more appealing. I may need to post some mock ups to this thread and call on all of you to compare the two options.

As the Ho of horology I dont care about the name or size trends (so many weird watch names out there) I will buy it if I like the looks and its in my price point. My guess is most of the negative is from the mid to high end watch owners but that is not your market obviously. Good for you for taking the feedback. With soooo many watches to pick from in the world and every price point, as you know, listen to your target market and not the outliers. I am an outlier so dont listen to me either. I have never spent over $300 for a watch. The mid to high end collectors will not buy your watch either unless they need a nice "beater" for mowing the lawn! I really like the looks of your watches and they seem to be well made by the pic/materials you are using. Just put the name on the back and forget the dial and/or logo the dial. Easy fix. People are going to call it a SWC anyway until the name means something to watch buyers. As you know, there is no better feeling than creating something that someone buys from you! All the best to you and way cool you are doing this with family too! Thanks for posting!

We are looking at getting the name officially changed to SWC (similar to International Watch Company IWC) but legally changing a corporation name in Switzerland is pretty tough so it could take some time before we are able to get anything changed.
Can you write it in German? Just as with cars and heavy metal bands, everything watch-related looks & sounds better in German to an English speaker...

I like the way they look, sort of a mashup design but looks good
Hopefully you do well enough to afford a pair of shoes.
Yep, wearing outdoor footwear, indoors on carpet. Track in all the bacteria and garbage you step in when out and about all day from peoples spit, vehicle oil, cat/dog ....., list goes on and on. Wear your shoes indoors alright, swift idea.

Thank you for the thread JRoem. Alot I like, but not quite for me. I am definitely looking forward to future models, especially with your fathers experience and history.
For a moment...I thought it's the revival of the now disappeared brand S.W.I.-Swiss Watch International

Ha, yep agree with you, here in Hawaii you enter someone's home with shoes on and it's a fast exit invite . . .

OP - nice looking watches, reminds me kinda/sorta of some Omega and Meraud models and that's meant in a good way, if I did not have two other pieces I'm wanting to acquire I'd certainly give your stuff more attention, wish you nothing but the best and much success!!
Well, I bought one. I don’t get all the criticism. But in spite of it SWC is doing quite well indeed. Where are you going to find a $500 watch with these specs, a Sellita SW200, and 20 layers of X1 SuperLumiNova? No where.

And to the criticism of a 44mm diver being too big, have you heard of Deep Blue?

I’ve a very small wrist, yet this 44mm wears just fine. I don’t get the love for 40mm watches for guys with a 7” plus wrist size. Who wants a tiny watch on a big wrist?

SWC rules!
