Is it a watermelon? Is it a peppermint? Oh, it’s an Oris.

I realized at the end of 2024 that I did not have a red dial watch. As I was plotting out my 2025 plans, I had to include a red watch butt which one?

1 watch that jumped out at me was the Oris Taste of Summer dive watches released last year. There was a red & green. I saw them at an Oris event at the AD butt did not make the leap: Oris Airstream Pop Up Event - Seattle | WatchCrunch

Last week, I was at the AD for an event for another brand (Norqain) & this time I couldn’t resist after seeing the red Watermelon under the case: Norqain Whiskey and Watches @Timeworks | WatchCrunch

The watch is based on their Aquis line of divers with an “integrated bracelet.” It’s interesting that it’s not both red and green (and black) for a complete watermelon theme. Instead, it has a striking white ceramic bezel with color match markers. I guess it can also inspire peppermint candy. Either way, it’s really fun & good looking.

I got a mug with my purchase. I think it’s metal and enamel. First cup of coffee.

The bracelet is “integrated” and uses these proprietary tri-star screws to hold the negative endlinks. I wish the lugs were normal for different strap options butt the bracelet links are very nice & has a very sexy taper from 22mm down to 16mm at the clasp.

Ok this is my first Oris & maybe not my last. They’re an independent brand with over 120 years of watching history. I think they have some fun & kool watches like the Kermit Pro-Pilot & bronze cotton candy divers. They also have dressier stuff like the handsome Big Crown Pointer Date line. So we’ll see… Thanks for lookin!
