I really liked the looks and lume of my original Seiko Black Monster (SKX779) which has died. I realize the new Monsters SRP307 and SRP313 have the new 4R36 movement, but I like the simplicity and ruggedness of the original. Furthermore, based on numerous posts I've read on this site, it seems that the lume on the original is better. I also miss the hour markings of the original.
For all these reasons, I was wondering if it is possible to put the new 4R36 movement into an old Black Monster body.
I realize that there are still a few new original monsters for sale online but am concerned that my previous monster only lasted 2 years and could never be regulated very accurately +/- 35 seconds per day.
