My mother left me this watch when she died and it's sat in a drawer for a decade or more. When I wind the crown it still works, but as you can see the dial is disfigured. I understand the case is white gold and as it's a mechanical watch, it could be dismantled, cleaned, and have a new dial made.

The question is, is it economical to do so? Your informed advice appreciated.

IMHO, it will not be cheap, but it is a nice watch and with a good servicing it could continue to give years of enjoyment.

It a lovely watch but If by economical you mean could you sell it for profit probably not. Ladies watches tend to be worth less and are less popular.
That said if it were me I would have it properly serviced and keep it to enjoy the memories. Or pass it on to someone else in the family who would wear it (as you appear to be a fella from your profile pic).

Are watches that old serviceable to the point that it will look brand new? Are parts still available for it?
