So, we all know that the (now discontinued) Casio MDV102 had that wonderful dual-LED light which could light up most of a room. I had one of those lovely little watches, but I gave it away and now I miss it.

Are there other watches out there like the MDV102 which could also double as an emergency flashlight? Casio's replacement, the 106, doesn't have a light.

Thanks!

The Casio G-Shock GW1500 has that feature too. The LEDs are blue and it really does light up a room. The other good thing is that the watch is solar charged, so there are no worries about draining the battery.
Good luck!

There are other companies that make similar types of LEDs on watch faces, I know Dakota made one, and I remember seeing a Zippo branded version too.

I have the G-Shock that Pelican mentions, and have used it to find stuff around my drums in a dark club. Not as bright as the -102 but not bad either.

Just to follow up on what Zippofan has said above, Dakota has its REQ (Rechargable Electgromagnetic Quartz) watches. I have 2 of the "Torch" (black and white dial) models and these offer the very brightest LED illumination on any watch I've ever seen. They illuminate with 3 LEDs in blue for 5 seconds or so with the first press of the pusher and with 3 bright orange LEDs for 30 seconds on the 2nd push. These truly are torch-like and light up a room easily. If used every day with lots of lighting use the battery will last about 1 month before it needs to be recharged on the very convenient induction charger (no need to open the watch or plug in anything and the watch lets you know when it needs to be charged). If used as a normal watch and with infrequent use of the lighting feature a single charge of the battery can last 1 year. The batteries are supposedly good for at least 300 charges, so if charged every month that's 25 years, although 10 years battery life is about what I'd expect in the real world if looked after ok. The watches are 100m water resistant, have a 10 year warranty (!!), have a recessed mineral crystal and even have decent lume on the hands and dial. When I bought mine about 2 years ago they were about $120 including the charger.
All in all, for a camping outdoor watch these are excellent.

Here's a link to the latest model on the Dakota website:

Cheers and good luck!

P.S. I'm not affiliated with Dakota in any way - I'm just a happy owner of 2 of their watches!

Why are all the watches with lights on them discontinued!

arrrrrgh
What? Your information is incorrect.

MTD-1080-8 Illuminator has two bulbs and there are other lighted Casio as well.
