Hello guys,

I'm thinking about making a homage watch like Chronoswiss timemaster these days.
The most hardest thing is searching a movement which has a center second hand.
Is there any Chinese hand winding movement like that?

Please help me~

Probably the most common type of Chinese mechanical movement in production (and never mind the hundreds of millions of vintage examples) is the hand-winding, centre-second 'Tongji' (aka Chinese Standard Movement).

Your choices are:
1. Buy a $10 watch and break it for parts (if necessary unbolting the auto-winding module if installed)
2. Buy an uncase movement for a similar cost from an online parts supplier. Look for a parts description like 'CH2650' or 'Chinese 2650S' or something similar.

There are various other options besides that. What are your other criteria?

I'm bumping this thread as I realised that you're thinking of a large wristwatch such as would normally house a pocketwatch movement.

So I was wondering if anybody else here can think of a modern Chinese oversize calibre with centre seconds?

The only option that comes to my mind is the vintage Jilin HJ1A, which is rare and one would not really want to use it for parts in a project unless it was found in a totally wrecked case.

I also posted a thread on watch making forum.

These days, I'm thinking about my watchmaking project for Chronoswiss Timemaster homage.
The materials are like below.

Movement : ETA 2801-2 (diameter:25.6mm thickness:3.35mm)
Dial : a homage dial fit ETA 6497
Hands : a homage hands fit ETA 2824, 2834, 2836
Case : a homage case fit ETA 2836 or ETA6497

Can I assemble this set? Please help me guys~ :)

How about the Dixmont Guangzhou DG2833?!
It is the handwinding variant of DGs Miyota clone.
PTS Resources distributes it, so you can get it
from any retailer who offers chinese mechanical movement,
e.g. allwatchparts, ofrei, cousins uk and so on.
