I´ve decided on this one for myself for christmas since I like the blue colour and the red star.

Is the case design soviet or newer? I´ve seen this dial and the blue with black ring as well on cccp watches but the case is a different matter.

Regards
Erik

It's a new russian, automatic, amphibia style watch with an ordinary round case I'd say.

Yes it´s russian but are the round cased amphibias new design-wise as well, or have they been around a while?

The modern amphibia is a successor to the older Albatros, which used the octagonal case pictured below. The even older oyster-style 200M can also be considered an ancestor of the Amphibia.

"tonneau"

These first amphibia cases are called "tonneau" (barrel). Their production period must be from 70's to 80's. Octagonal cases must be in period of 80's and last round ones came in production in 90's.
