Bought this Omega Seamaster 396.1062 on Ebay. I'm fairly certain it is a legit one,but want to make sure. Serial number is 5412xxxx, which seems to be period correct.

Yes it's legit, such a shame that Omega ****ed it up with those hands.

Thank you. Yes, I would have liked the Mercedes hand, but not a big deal in the end.
I also have an additional question- is the watch case diameter supposed to be 36mm for this? With the crown measured it's 39mm, but without it about 36mm.
Did Omega perhaps return the old hands? You wouldn't see this with the "Mercedes hands", but Omega replaced the hands with new ones so they don't match the dial.

They did come with Mercedes hands on the earlier models.

Yup. I believe this is a 1994 model.

On a mid 90's?
Mercedes hands on an omega. 🤢🤮
Have someone relume the current hands to match and you're set.
Looks good
always liked this model
I went with a pal to buy one in autumn 1991 in Bristol UK and met up with him in Dallas USA in 2018 and he was still wearing it :)

The hands/new lume can be sorted n matched to indices lume, but not a big deal
great watch

It can't be mid 90's, they stopped making them when the 2531 was introduced in 1993.

To the best of my knowledge, the Pre Bond watch ran from 1988-1995, although it was effectively replaced with the 2531 in 1993. I suppose 1994 and 1995 Pre Bond models were left over stock from previous years productions.

You were right. This was made in 1993.
Hi. I have only recently had my interest in watches reinvigorated and am only now learning about watch terms and how timepieces work. I just found this thread on the quartz Reference 396.1062 Seamaster. I purchased the one in the photo below new in the late 80s, early 90s. I would certainly appreciate any additional information about my watch. Thank you.
