My first pocket watch..from what I understand it's a J. Gallet ladies Racine, silver, made around 1895, low grade movement. (Please correct me if I'm wrong). Size is ca. 35mm. Dial is dusty but I'm not going to attempt to clean it I think. besides it's more grubby in the pics than in RL. It runs, with a rather nice sound.:)

Hi restless,

a rather interesting piece: The literature mentions Jules Racine as US importer
for Gallet watches between 1924 and 1940. And your watch was definitely
made much earlier; I'd agree with ca. 1895.

Thanks! I did some googling on this one. A little suprised that it was so old. Also smaller than I imagined. I wonder whether it's difficult to get it serviced?

That is a good quality, high jeweled cylinder watch and
any decent watchmaker would happily service this.l
