Just wanted to share-OWC content

I've received the OWC 9411 about 1 wk ago and have to say its an outstanding piece. I talked with Dan and was asking about the styles and the wait times and happened to ask if he by chance had any "laying around". And guess what? This was a special piece that he was working on to see what it looked like. A 9411 blue dial/black bezel set up with 5517 hands. It really is a great watch. I typically dont post many comments about watches but felt like I should with this one. I wont go into details as there are several reviews written much better than I could articulate it but I wanted to share some pics of this beauty. Although I will say that over the past wk its averaging about -2 sec/day. I've been trying them on different straps in preparation for a trip to the Florida Keys in a couple weeks. I love the OEM bracelet and I have the mesh as well and those are great fits, but always have to try some new things too. So feel free to make more suggestions and add your own pics of your OWCs. Sorry for the rambling and on to a few pics.

As long as you are prepared to wait (and wait) then you will end up with a cracker. I'm 5 months in, hopefully get some good news soon
I'm willing to wait for a quality piece. Plus that will give me time to save for it. I'll put aside X amount per week. That way it wont seem like such a long wait.
I'll chime in and say that the curved lugs make a big difference. I have a Steinhart OVM and the straight lugs on that make it feel a little larger than the 42mm case. The last time I talked to Dan he said that he was hoping to have everyone's very soon...he was just knee deep in taxes right now. (He's an accountant by trade and this is right small in the Aussie tax season). And he has some new designs coming soon as well. I have to say I'm very pleased not only with the quality of the watches but the customer service so far. He's been very responsive to all my questions. Great pics of everyone's OWC. Keep posting me up.

Here's my Mil Sub A-10 over looking Warrnambool.
I'm no expert in watches but I know a good product when I get one... I love this watch, it's been on my wrist a lot. I'd like to echo Jono's sentiments. Dan is a great bloke and a pleasure to deal with. He's upfront about what is involved in getting one of these pieces and if you can stand the wait and go with the flow you'll be very happy you did so.

Cant wait for mine, although the wait is frustrating. But i know ill get a top quality piece when i get it.

Anyone with a recent order care to share what Invoice number/order number they were ? Mine is 600, might give me some idea whereabouts he is???
Great pic asho. Makes me want the mil sub even more. Steppy, hope yours is coming soon. I'm headed to the Florida Keys next wk and my 9411 and gulfman will be the only ones coming with me I think. (Ok maybe a Bathys too). Can't wait to try it out.

My invoice is an hour away, sitting in my office... I *think* it was around 476 or 496. Definitely over 400 though... My number actually came up at the end of May, though. I opted to wait for the blue date wheel.

Some more pictures on my small wrist (16cm/6.3"). I had to remove 4 links though a bit tight. Adding one more would be too loose though in summer I will likely add a link. Forgot to mention (and also to Dan) I ordered a mesh band as well but it is too big.

This watch is definitely well worth the wait. I looked back when I placed a order - Dec 2010 #31. Love the fact it is a watch designed and put together in Australia - quite unique and as an Australian proud to be wearing one of Dan's watches. It has been a pleasure dealing with Dan. :)

Real nice pics. I found the extra mini links included to be damn effective.

I don't own one of these yet but when I had an SMP the half links were wonderful.

Even more so better that all links on the bracelet are removable on the OWC. Right on.
I've always liked the OWC models.. I wonder why I haven't owned one yet hmmm I think that has to change :)
I'm still amazed at all of the engineering and details on my 5517. Dan is great to work with. I'm submitting my order for a blue snowflake A-10.

I've waited for years for a few custom knives, often with little or no communication until the knife is done and ready. Dan is great to work with, so it is well worth the wait.

I'm struggling with Dan and OWC at the moment. I'm not going to cancel my order, no way, because I know the product I end up with will be great quality, I'm only 5 months in so I can't really complain to be honest ( and remember you don't put any money down at all)

I speak to Dan about every couple of weeks to get updates/chat, I don't think he's done much in the way of building watches in the last 6 weeks or so, as a result he's not stuck to several things he's told me. Its quite frustrating but its the great pictures on here that let me know it is worth the wait and keep me going.

(but the benefit is how many companies would freely discuss their products and problems so openly?)

Anyway, keep those pictures coming guys, they keep me sane ......

Apparently it is tax season and that's Dan's primary job. Watches are a passion and take a back seat to life. Can't say I blame him. Plus he's almost OCD regarding the quality and specifications of the parts he's supplied with, so delays are almost inevitable. I sort of relate it to my custom knife experiences. Trust me- the end product is well worth the wait.

I can spend my money any way I wish. I prefer to spend it on items I like and respect, and from vendors/companies/individuals I like and respect.

Yea, I placed my order for a blue a-10 flake as well w/blue date wheel. Can't wait. I don't mind the wait so much with my insanely accurate damasko hogging all the wrist time anyway. I just wish it would be here sooner
Hang in there. It is tax season so that puts a damper on what he really wants to be doing. Here's something to help. My 9411 mod in the Florida keys.

Damn this piece has a rich dial.
Well worth the wait (which is fairly short compared to some others!).

My MS9411 with A-10 Soprod and matching blue date wheel.

6 Months in and still waiting for mine, tough going (from a daft WIS point of view).

Dan has told me its going to be in the next month or so, theres a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel !

Man, he must really be powering through.
Saw the recent New Letter with the rash of PC issues he's been having.
I hear ya on the wait time.
