Two quick questions. Are Kanji dials much more prefered? If so will they add more value to a watch? I just want to make sure that my facts are in line. I have always thought that they are more sought after and will in most cases add value to a watch. Thanks for your feedback.

You know sticky, I think you hit the nail right on the head. It's not that I'm looking to acquire a watch with a Kanji date wheel for profit in the future, it's more like what you just said, the rarity of a Kanji date wheel. I like things that are more uncommon and rare than something you see every corner you turn. Thanks again.

It is more valuable in that it'll probably sell for more because people like you and me think it looks cool. But that's pretty much the extent of it.

I added a Kanji day wheel to my internal mod SKX because I thought it looked cool. I don't think it adds any value, though. Most people will see it and know it's not original (SKX never came with Kanji wheels), so if anything, it might actually lower the resale value.

I'm never flipping it, though, so I don't really care.

Watches with regional dials are fun to own but most of the added value is esoteric. Plus, many also have alternate English days along with the regional language so you have a choice.
I keep my watches with their regional/alternate dials on display (German, Kanji, Roman, etc.). It just makes the wearing a little more entertaining.

It makes more sense to me for a Japanese watch to have an English/Kanji day wheel instead of a more common English/Spanish one. I never put those on Spanish but I do put my SKX on Kanji most of the time.
