Dear fellow WIS,

It is with pride and joy that I present to you my latest acquisition: a Patek Aquanaut 5065A-001, dating back to 2000 with the tritium dial.

I was in doubt between the more recent 5167 and 5165 models (these feature more modern movements) and this baby, but the grenade style dial, indices and more vintage appearance swayed the decision in favour of the 5065.

Scope of delivery includes original boxes and paperwork, all tags etc. As the watch is currently being shipped to me all I have to show you are these pics taken by the seller, but I will post some wrist shots as soon as I have taken receipt of the Aquanaut (should be this Friday), absolutely stoked !

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Pieter

amazing watch. congrats! true grail

Never understood what type of strap you get. Is it cut-to-size? No micro adjusts right? I get it that you dont buy a Patek for the practicality but I would hate the idea of having to take it off because your wrist swells after you drink, what I assume, too much champagne in the sun

Is strap length a serious issue when you are in the market for one? Or can you relative easily buy a new one nowadays?
Thanks a lot !

You are correct, to the best of my knowledge, the strap is cut-to-size, without micro adjustment.
One can easily buy another strap, albeit at a cost: at EUR 650 a pop (RRP), they don't come cheap.

Cheers
