Hey Guys: Fellow member Tiggercat, who wrote The seiko nickname guide below several years ago, has granted his permission to redraft, consolidate and update it. I would like to expand the guide to include citizen and Orient models with nicknames as well.

Please post the following information for any models you contribute a nickname for:

- Model Number
- Nickname
- Picture of the watch

Once we've collected a bunch, I'll edit the thread to include all the new info and post it in our reference archive for future reference, with a copy going to chris at OWS.

So lets hear those nicknames.

As a person who has been researching Seiko/Citizen watches the past couple of months and has struggled to get up to speed with all the many variations, this thread will be great resource.

What would make this thread perfect/complete (IMO) would be the inclusion of case sizes (excluding crown) and lug widths.

+1

I don't think I have any to add that haven't already been posted. But I just wanted to thank Isthmus on updating the list. I remember the original list helping me out a lot on getting up to speed when I first got into Seikos. :-!

Re: SLR001 and SLR003 "quartz monster"

Or in the case of my 003 "peach monster" Currently my favorite,
Actually these are known as "Quartz Monsters". Peach is a reference to the color of the dial of the off-white variant.
