Hello,
I am just a beginner in the field of vintage watches, so please bear with me.. ;-)
I just bought a watch (brand: LIGA), almost certainly paid too much for it but I found it very attractive looking. Also, I think it is in very good shape considering its age. The seller claimed it dates from the 70s but I don't believe that. From the very limited info I could find on the internet I would date this watch to the fifties. This brand did not make watches anymore after the 60s it would seem. Cabn anyone confirm that and/or tell mesomething more about this brand?
Thanks!

Mid to late 1940s, early 1950s at the latest. The movement is an AS 984, or one of its numerous derivatives.
The only matching Liga trademark in Mikrolisk would be the one for a company registered in Solothurn in 1919, but I'm pretty sure they have existed before that - at least I certainly remember the Liga name in the context of pocket watches with pin-set Roskopfs inside.

Thanks! If it's that old it's appearance is even more surprising. I haven't received it yet (photos are from seller) so I am curious to see if it runs well, as the seller claims (not that I expect great precision of course).
