Hello Longines Owners,

I recently wanted to add a Longines to my collection. Earlier I owned a vintage Longines Agassiz 150 Anniversary watch, which was quartz and really loved and enjoyed wearing it. However, it was quite small and so wanted to get a bigger watch to suit modern times.

I was looking for a watch in Sports line and found Conquest GMT to be very nice interesting, especially, the Blue-dialed version. I came across a Black dialed version in pre-owned market and finally got it as this model is discontinued and used ones seemed to be only option and was available in Black. I really like the Black dial. It is rich and has sunburst effect, might not be as vibrant as Blue dial but I love the richness the Black has on this watch.

Before purchasing this watch I read some reviews on various forums and the main concerns seemed to be the thickness and loud rotor noise, which I am ok with. I wanted your opinions on the movement and service intervals and cost.

Please share your opinions and experiences with this watch and the movement.

The black dial is really deep looking.

It is indeed very rich and classy. In bright light it is bit gray and even the sunburst effect isn't obvious but very subtle which adds so much class and character.
I shall try and add more pictures of it in next few days. Thanks.

Yes, the dial looks very different based on the lighting and it is very subtly done. Very hard to capture in pictures. There are couple of videos on YouTube that capture the variation close enough.
