Hi all, I'm new to this forum and watches in general so I thought I would like your guys's opinion on a timepiece I wish to buy.
My budget is <$100 and I've looked through quite a few brands and the Lucien Piccard Montilla Chronograph caught my eye.
I'm interested in the white/stainless steel/black strap model. This watch is powered by Japanese movement and seems to have decent quality for the price range.
It's currently on sale for only $74.99 with free shipping from ewatches.com They also have an assortment of different color choices.

Here is the link for all the color choices: Lucien Piccard Montilla Watches,Lucien Piccard Montilla Watches for Men,Lucien Piccard Montilla Watches for Women

Please let me know what you guys think of it or perhaps suggest something else that you think is a better buy that fits in my price range.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

You know what?? For 75 bucks..., that's a nice looking watch. I don't think you can do much better unless you can find a deal on a Seiko 5 (which will be the pat answer here) or find something used/vintage. Just don't forget, your going to get what you pay for.

This is sounding like a better and better deal...

Another watch I considered was a Swatch Trueville on eBay brand new for $88.00. I do prefer the larger size of the Lucien and I also like the design a little more but how much of a difference would there be in terms of build quality and longevity?

While I agree with you that it's an excellent deal, the chrono doesn't really fit my style. I'm looking for something a little more simple but still having a unique look. The Seiko is a beautiful watch but just doesn't look very unique too me and doesn't really match my style. Thanks for the suggestion though.

The watch you have in the op is a chrono and is a dead ringer for the IWC Portuguese... well, as dead ringer as you can get for 75 bucks!

Translating from chinese to english using "google translate" isn`t 100% accurate.
Made by Swiss Legend... (WTF?)...........:

"There are four grades of crystals commonly used in watches. Here they are in order from lowest to highest: acrylic, mineral, hybrid and sapphire. Acrylic crystals are an inexpensive plastic that allows shallow scratches to be buffed out. Mineral crystals are composed of several elements that are heat-treated to create an unusual hardness that aids in resisting scratches. Hybrid crystals are synthetic sapphire which is almost as hard as true sapphire but since it is man-made it isn't nearly as expensive as sapphire. Some companies identify their hybrid crystals with specific names such as Sapphlex (Seiko), Sapphitek (Swiss Legend), Flame-Fusion (Invicta). Sapphire crystals are the most expensive and durable and are virtually scratch-proof. They are also approximately 3 times harder than mineral crystals and 20 times harder than acrylic crystals. A anti-reflective coating is sometimes applied on some sport styles to prevent glare."
