I love this watch. Thanks for the pictures. What does the Chinese inside the caseback say?
Thanks! If I may reply on melburn833's behalf...

The Celadon Seal is engraved in gold, and next to it is the Chinese name of the Celadon Imperial - 狀元表, referring to the number one scholar of the nation, a title of paramount esteem in Imperial China. In 2200 years of Imperial Examinations, there have only been 596 such Zhuangyuan scholars. In contemporary times, the title has come to mean "the champion", and so is our watch a champion of a great cause, whose quality and refined design tower above its competition.

The two smaller rows on the left (remember that Chinese is traditionally read vertically downwards, from right to left) say "實現重大使命,傳承中華文明" - "To accomplish a momentous mission, in carrying on Chinese civilization".

The use of Chinese Scroll Stripe finishing and the contrast of Xingkai character script of different sizes lend the effect of viewing a Chinese painting, which traditionally displays the seals of all their owners and the title in a larger script than the text.

Thank you--that's a very beautiful watch. Looking forward to future releases from Celadon and to owning one myself...

Can anyone speak to how big the Imperial wears? I'm slightly concerned that 38mm might be a bit small for 7.25" wrists. :(

I have two Imperials and a 7.25" inch wrist. I think they fit quite well. If you are already comfortable wearing 38-41", I think you'll be comfortable with them as a dress watch.

I don't know how to answer that, except to say that the case has a fairly thin "bezel" area, and lots of dial--but it looks like "gentleman's" watch as opposed to, say, a partiers' watch. Meaning no disrespect, it's not a U-Boat.

Perfect. That's what I'm looking for. Something to wear as a dress watch. Thanks!

For those of you who prefer are larger sportier watch, Maison Celadon just released its Yue Fei (Yue Fei = famous Chinese general) for preorder!

There is a blue dial version but I like the slate gray with the blued hands more. Haven't seen it in person but the case is angular and rugged and the sword hands are cool, styled after two famous swords in Chinese history.

I just preordered the Maison Yue Fei. This will be my first Chinese watch that I have purchased.

Fingers crossed regarding the quality controls.

Dan
I wouldn't worry too much there. I recently ordered the Imperial and Ben put in days of QC to make sure all was perfect. I've heard the same from others too. That said, Ben is extremely nice, so even if there were any issue, getting it rectified would be easy, I imagine. =)

Hi Dan, Ben here. Using this account as I've been having issues with my previous account, hence why I'm only replying to you now here. Thanks very much for your order! I will ensure to my best abilities that you will receive an exceedingly fine watch, a watch worthy of the Made in China with Pride appellation :D

We do four layers of quality control, two by two different people at BWAF, and two more by me personally when the watch arrives and before it leaves for you. You will be thoroughly satisfied with your Yue Fei!

Thanks for the kind words Dave! Your faith in me is what spurs me on to greater levels of excellence. I cannot promise that we will always be perfect, since we are ultimately human. But I can promise that my Celadon Connoisseurs will always receive my very best, in all aspects.

Should any issue arise in the lifetime of your watch, I will be on hand to assist in rectifying it to the best of my abilities. Every Celadon watch is my baby, and I cherish them all as much as you do. :D
