A place to show off the new carbon core mudmaster gwg2000, originally I was in the " I'll pass camp " but then a few videos on YouTube later and kaboom ordered on sunday through amazon using a Japanese market dealer & it arrived today.

Immediate thoughts are

More comfortable on the wrist.
Better strap construction.
To my eye it seems like larger font size in display slot.
Sapphire glass always seems way better to me then hardplex imho
Seems like a cleaner dial layout.

Hello everyone...
I'm New here but have along relationship with G-shocks, going back to the GW-6000 days .. ;)
For the last decade or so I've been switching between the GW-9400 (Blackout with Carbon Insert Strap) and various Pro Trek Models, the latest is the PRY-3510Y which I use with a PDW NATO Strap.

I want to get a New GWG-2000 Model, I am having trouble deciding which model to get (money is not an issue with this purchase):
1- GWG-2000-1A1 - classic look, might be the most "elegant" one of the group, fits perfectly with my work's "dress code" and I can still wear it while going out to have some fun in the evening with my wife and friends. Cons - a bit grey scaled..
2- GWG-2040FR-1A - Super-Unique and Limited, Has all that phosphorous look and basically (at least here in Israel) nobody has it. Cons - Might be a bit flamboyant for everyday use.

In addition - I am a bit worried about the orange bezel material of the GWG-2040FA-1A , I cannot seem to understand what is it's components and how strong is it comparing to the steel of the GWG-2000-1A1... Is it weaker? Is It Stronger?
If someone can explain that to me - I will highly appreciate it !

BTW - thought about the TLC version - the lack of Lume on the hour-marks was disappointing. decided not to get it.

Thank You All!
Tomy.

Hi Tomy,

regarding the 2 mentioned GWG-2000: it is just a matter of taste - both bezels are very strong - carbon a little bit more scratch resistant than steel...

Concerning the TLC: what do you mean with "lack of lume"? All GWG-2000 have less lume on the markers then the GWG-1000, but all (including the TLC) have a very visible dial, indeed.

GWG-2000 (top) vs GWG-1000 (bottom) and side by side:

LED is brighter on GWG-2000:

Thank You Very Much Stefan!
Just ordered the TLC version 🤯
I saw a video that stated the Lack of Lume in the TLC version (there was a shot of the watch in the dark showing "less brightness" on the hour markers compared to the regular versions..) 🤷‍♂️
I thought that it will be highly unlikely that Casio will put out a special edition watch with Less features,
Your photos helped me understand that the Only difference is that the seconds hand doesn't have Lume on it's edge - and that does not concern me. ;)

Thanks Again.
Can't wait to get the watch and share pictures with you all.

My buddies dad got this watch as a gift, he is selling it to me for great price, but I'm kind of skeptical because of the packaging that it's in. The box that it came with has a C-K33R1-6 number on it that I tried searching, but no luck. From what I've seen, the gwg2000 comes in either a nice presentation box or a gshock tin can, which this one doesn't have. Watch is brand new and has some tags on it. Do any of you know if these are being faked?

Below are the pics so you guys can help me out

Check if all the functions work as they should.
I once bought a gwg1000 on ebay that was fake and just by looking at it briefly, it could pass as a legit watch but all the functions wasnt there and the crown wasnt in use.
I wouldnt get too worried just by the box it came with.
Yours look legit to me.

It looks like it came from a Navy Exchange. Probably a special buy, with packaging adjusted accordingly.

To all you with the gwg1000.....anyone have fitting issues?? I have a pretty large wrist and hand the watch band usually sits on the 4th/5th notch from the end. The issue I'm having is pretty basic as the either too tight or too loose. The watch will walk slightly, pulling hair and resting uncomfortable on the wrist. This watch is brand new only worn twice.....I love it other than fitment.....and before I post it for sale or trade figured I'd reach out for others ideas or solutions.
Did you try the JaysAndKays adapters for your watch?
Might help, you will be able to switch between different straps 😏

The jays and kays adapters good?? They look like they cheapen the look of the watch in pictures. Do they mount with both sets of pins like the oem band does?

Have you set the straps to be curved by leaving the ends tightly wound? Here's a photo doing this to a GWG-2000.

The last thing I'd want is to break the case due to a poorly mounted band adaptor

Anyone out there with the jays and kays have any issue with the case damage?

Will this work the same with the gwg1000? I heard the strap on the 1000 is much stiffer than the 2000
