90% of the watches I like come with leather straps, but I much prefer wearing a metal strap. I have never swapped leather for metal, but I am hoping it isn't too difficult to make a good match.

My question is how difficult is it to match the finish of a case to the bracelet? I am assuming that finding correct sizes and curvatures for the end pieces of the bracelet isn't a big deal. Is this something I should even be trying, or will it be destined to look too frankenwatch-ish?

Thanks.

That will depend upon the metal used and how highly polished it is.

A 316 grade of stainless with a matt, brushed, or polished finished may or may not match exactly because of the finishing technique used or the coarsness of the finish.

Try to get a good photo from your merchant before you commit.
