Thought I'd post a picture of the military Omegas in my collection. Right to left: Omega MoD WWW w/cal 30T2 (1944), Omega RAF "Fat Arrow" w/cal 283 (1953), Omega Speedmaster Pro w/cal 861 (1970). While the British watches were issued, the Speedmaster was a private purchase by a Huey pilot who wore it throughout his tours.

As far as I am concerned, the '53 Air Ministry 6b specification face (in your 'fat arrow') is simply the finest watch dial layout ever produced. While I have never quite got around to an original by any of the dozen or so manufactures that produced one I surely will one day. Probably a JLC!

I keep meaning to buy myself the wonderful homage produced by timefactors:

(scroll down to PRS 53)

Why I haven't, I don't know, it's a fabulous watch!

However, until I get around to it I'll just have to get by with my lovely W10, as featured in my avatar:

Very nice Joe! :-!

I have a few Omega milwatches (and youse thought I was only a Seamaster guy!):

Love the heat-blued hands!

There are a couple more, but no photos :-(

Matt the PRS-53 is a super watch. All the looks and feel of an Omega '53 at a small fraction of the price. And you can wear it fearlessly!

How about one made for 'Merica?

Like this here:

Brought it by the watchmaker for an adjustment. Back to keeping chronometer grade time again.

Enjoy,

Very nice watches.|> Anymore pictures of the RN300?

BTW - the map brings back memories ..... :-x

Another E&E map photo:

I found a bunch of these old E&E maps on eBay and had them and a repro of an old blood chit of mine sewn into a liner for my leather bomber - one of the best ideas I ever had! b-)
